Pacific Premier Joins the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Studies show that one in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. On top of that statistic, breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among women throughout the world.
In support of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s goal to reduce breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent by 2026, Pacific Premier Bank has made a sizable donation to support services offered to low-income and uninsured individuals in Orange County.
Pacific Premier’s 2-year, $200,000 donation is responsive to the need to expand access to health services for low-income individuals who may be at higher risk of late-stage diagnosis. The funds will particularly support Susan G. Komen Orange County’s operating costs associated with outreach, education, screenings, and support services offered to minority women at mobile mammography events.
In partnership with Susan G Komen OC and IE, Pacific Premier also sponsored the Komen More Than Pink Walks (formerly known as The Race for the Cure) in both Orange County and the Inland Empire, held on September 22, 2019 and October 13, 2019, respectively. Participants walked to help fund live-saving research and support women and families who have been impacted by breast cancer.
Breast health information was available at each Pacific Premier branch during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2019. Pacific Premier employees also showed their support by wearing Pacific Premier Pink Polo shirts each Friday during the month to help bring attention to this important cause.
